The Agreement on Codification with Ukraine signed

Delegation of the Directorate of Standardization, Codification and Metrology, Department of Defence Technology, Sector of Material Resources took part at the Second World Conference on Codification held in Copenhagen from 5th to 7th November under the auspices of NATO Committee for Codification AC/135. During the conference a bilateral Agreement on Codification between defence ministries of Serbia and Ukraine was signed. The Agreement was signed by the Director of the Directorate Colonel Zoran Spasojević and the Director of National Codification Bureau of Ukraine Lieutenant Colonel Aleksandar Kumeda. This Agreement will ensure better cooperation in the codification of the means of the same origin and of the armament produced in Ukraine as well.

 

Today the codification is a worldwide process in 66 countries with tendency for constant increase in the number of participants. The Conference in Copenhagen showed that the field of codification is rapidly changing in accordance with demand of time, limited financial resources and current possibilities of information technologies.

 

Participating in the Conference the Republic of Serbia has ensured the fulfillment of the remaining official conditions for obtaining the status of Tier-2 Codification system what is going to be realized by the end of this year.
